Dear Colleagues,
It is our great pleasure to invite you to attend the XIV thWorkshop of the European Society for Isotope Research (ESIR) - ESIR 2017, that will be hosted by the National Research and Development Institute for Cryogenics and Isotopic Technologies – ICSI Rm. Vâlcea, at Băile Govora (Romania) on 25-29 June, 2017.
ESIR - European Society for Isotope Research - is the association of scientists engaged in isotope research, focused primarily on Central and Eastern Europe, but is open to all interested parties from around the world. Isotopic studies of interest to ESIR include various aspects and applications of natural distribution of stable and radioactive isotopes, such as isotopes in geochemical processes, geosciences, oceanography and meteorology, applications of isotopes in industry, mining, forensics, and various other areas, as well as the development of methods and measurement techniques.
ESIR 2017 is the fourteenth Workshop of the European Society for Isotope Research (ESIR), in a series of scientific events that started in 1992 to Lublin (Poland) and continued with Książ, Poland (1994), Budapest, Hungary (1996),Portorož, Slovenia (1998), Kraków, Poland (2000), Tallinn, Estonia (2002),Seggauberg, Austria (2004), Leipzig, Germany (2005), Cluj-Napoca, Romania (2007), Złotniki Lubańskie, Poland (2009), Budapest, Hungary (2011) Freiberg, Germany (2013), and Zadar, Croatia (2015).
The purpose of the XIVth Edition of Isotope Workshop – ESIR 2017 is to bring together specialists in the different fields related to isotopes (radioisotopes, stable isotopes and non-traditional stable isotopes), to present state-of-the-art developments as well as key examples of application and to promote exchange of ideas between scientists. This event will be a chance to highlight your research results, to meet, talk, explore and learn more about different aspects of isotope research and application.
To encourage young scientists and PhD students to present their best contributions, a panel of scientific experts will select the best oral presentations and posters presented to be awarded in the competition for the Best Presentation and Best Poster.
The participants will have also the opportunity, after the scientific meetings, to relax in a unique microclimate, an oasis of serenity and health, and to explore the beauty of nature. Enthusiasts of history and authentic folk tradition will be in the right environment. In the immediate vicinity there are several historical sights included into the UNESCO patrimony, which invites you to explore the past.
We look forward to welcoming you to Băile Govora, Romania.
