The project proposes the radioactivity level determination for Romanian Danube basin and an identification of the existing possibilities for applying isotopic investigation techniques for the analysis and surveying of the environmental parameters on long and medium terms. In order to achieve these tasks, the following project milestones have been identified:

• The investigation of the specific issues for the hydrological area and of the published data for Danube basin, focusing especially onto the Pontic Danube basin;
• The defining of the surveying points which are representative and the harmonizing the sampling, storing and treatment procedures for all the measurements types considered;
• Identification of the environment radioactivity level by studying the spatial and temporal variability for the investigated area;
• Environment stable isotopes concentration determination using as a tool the same spatial-temporal variability for the Romanian Danube basin;
• On-line database development with free access for all the team partners for an easy data registration of measured values;
• Development of spatial and temporal database for the investigated parameters using GIS digital mapping techniques.
